Caister Lodge was established in 1987 on the site of what was once the Caister Hotel, a popular family hotel, well-known to most Durbanites. The Hotel was transformed into what is today, a much sought-after residency by those who wish to retire in secure, safe and tranquil surroundings – located in the heart of Berea, close to the Musgrave Centre, many popular churches and Berea Park, and right on the main city bus route, with a bus-stop right at the main gate.

A beautifully appointed swimming pool on the front of the lawn provides welcome relief from those warm summer days. For the benefit of the bridge players and book-worms, an air-conditioned bridge room with five tables and a well-stocked library is located off the veranda. The refurbished lounge is ideal for entertaining family and friends.

Fun evenings include regular Tuesday and Friday Bingo evenings, ladies nights in our cosy bar, guest musicians play for your enjoyment, and our video evenings and quiz evenings have both become a popular event.
